Launch Experiments Method
This marketing tactic didn't work, now what?
Often when marketing our projects we fall back to one or two tactics that we know.
Unfortunately when those tactics don't go as planned, we can feel lost on what to do next and overthink the next steps.
The truth is there are thousands of ways to market your product. This in itself though can be overwhelming and cause analysis paralysis.
How we launched 30+ growth experiments every month
In my previous role as Head of Paid Social & Growth, where I managed a 7 digit advertising budget as well as ran several growth experiments, my team & I were able to launch at least 8 tests a week using the Growth Method.
That was roughly 2 tests per person for our team of 4.
We used the Growth Method to come up with ideas, prioritise, design, launch, measure and do the whole thing all over again.
A methodical approach to launching more growth experiments
The 6 step process looks like this
- Ideate - Come up with new ideas based on past data, tips we hear/read about, and copying competitors.
- Prioritise - Choose which ideas you should pursue first.
- Design - Design how the test will work, set up any pre-work like tooling, and then determine your benchmark and how you'll measure against it.
- Launch - Launch your test
- Analyse - After roughly a week or two of running your test, measure the results vs your benchmark.
- Scale/ Fail/ Test Again - Decide to scale your test, fail it and move on, or test again with a few changes.
How to launch more tests today
I created the growth method worksheet to guide you through the process of ideating, designing and launching more growth experiments.
At the end of this, you'll hopefully have at least 2 new growth ideas to launch over the next 30 days.
